OLIVER TWIST

OLIVER TWIST

Theatre

The Foundation of the Hellenic World presents

Charles Dickens
OLIVER TWIST
Translation: Fotini Megaloudi
Performance – Adaptation: Konstantina Nikolaidi
From October at "THEATRON"
Hellenic World
Cultural Centre & Museum

Foundation of Hellenic World presents a magnificent theatrical play at “THEATRON” Hall at the Hellenic Cosmos Venue. OLIVER TWIST adapted from Charles Dickens’ novel by Konstantina Nikolaidi with an amazing cast, as the timeless characters are brought to life on stage by talented greek actors and actresses.
Oliver Twist is a hero who manages to preserve his kindness and his morality in a cruel and unfair world. The insignificance of human life, poverty and social inequality of Dickens’s England, reminds us of our world today. But, there is hope. Dickens believes that truth, purity and childhood, can triumph in a world of poverty and misery.

The play:
‘’What did you say!’’
‘’Please sir’’ Oliver said, ‘’I need more food. I’m starving!’’
Oliver Twist is an orphan boy, who lives in England of 19th century. When he makes the ‘’mistake’’ of asking for more food, the principal of the orphanage kicks him out. A gang of pickpockets will become his new family. Yet hope is not lost for little Oliver. When he meets two wonderful and honest people, Oliver will try to balance between two worlds and eventually he will have to choose which path to take. The fight between good and evil begins.

Starring:
Renos Charalampidis, Tasos Kostis, Konstantinos Kapas, Maria Antoulinaki, Dionisis Pifeas as Oliver Twist, Tatiana Melidou, Konstantinos Moutaftsis, Rinos Tzanis
