The Museum of Cycladic Art opened its doors to the public in January 1986, and is now a living institution in the heart of Athens. With the aim of communicating with the general public, it organises temporary exhibitions – devoted to archaeology and contemporary art – educational programmes, creative activities for children and families, lectures, one-day conferences, seminars, music and other events. Its permanent collections are promoted by occasional reinstallations according to the latest museological approaches and academic publications. Today, in the galleries of the MCA the visitor can approach three major subjects: Cycladic Art (3200 - 2000 BC), Ancient Greek Art (2000 BC - 395 AD) and Ancient Cypriot Art (3900 BC - 6th century AD).
