The Music Library of Greece ‘Lilian Voudouri’ is the largest music library in the country and was created in 1997 by the Friends of Music Society in order to become a resource center for music and the fine arts, able to support continuous research and multilevel educational programs. Unique among its kind in Greece and freely accessible to the public, the Library has been organized and continues to operate with the aim of addressing the needs of a wide range of users. The Library uses all modern information technologies which have been applied to the field of its activities. Library material, which increases steadily every year, focuses on Western art music and Greek music from the Antiquity to the present. The Library’s collection comprises of more than 140.000 titles.
Access to the Library and use of its resources and services is free to all registered members at its premises. In addition, the Library encourages everyone who wishes to enjoy special privileges, including the right to check out material, to register as a Friend of the Library.

Type of Events
As part of its activities which are aimed at the broader public and at various age groups, the Library organizes on a regular basis events such as lifelong learning programs for adults, educational programs for children, music theatre for children, concerts, conferences, and lectures. In addition, it hosts at its premises events organized by other institutions, such as presentations of books, talks and concerts.

Library’s Opening Hours
The Library’collection is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 to 16:45 and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 19:00. On Saturday and Sunday, all official holidays and three weeks during the month of August, the library is closed.

Tickets for cultural events are being sold by Ticketservices, Panepistimiou 39, M-F, 9:00 – 17:00, S 10:00 – 14:00 and in Library’s booking office Inside the Megaron-The Athens Concert Hall), M-F & Sunday, 10:00 – 16:00
